Within the scope of this website, certain personal information is collected concerning your access, through the use of cookies.
4.2.1 Definitions, characteristics and application of the regulation.
Cookies are small text files that sites visited by the user send and store on his/her computer or mobile device, to be then retransmitted to the same sites on the user’s next visit. It is thanks to cookies that the site remembers the user’s actions and preferences (such as, for example, login data, chosen language, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be selected again when the user returns to said site or moves from one page to another within it. Cookies are therefore used to perform computer authentication, monitor sessions and store information regarding the activities of users accessing a site; they may also contain a unique identification code that allows tracking of the user’s browsing activity within the site, for statistical or advertising purposes. While browsing a site, the user may also receive on his/her computer or mobile device cookies from sites or web servers other than the one he/she is visiting (so-called ‘third-party’ cookies). Certain operations may not be carried out without the use of cookies, which are therefore (in certain cases) technically necessary for the operation of the site itself. There are various types of cookies, depending on their characteristics and functions, and these may remain on the user’s computer or mobile device for different periods of time: so-called session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed; so-called persistent cookies, which remain on the user’s device until a pre-determined expiry date. Under current Italian law, express consent of the user is not always required for the use of cookies. In particular, ’technical cookies’, i.e. those used for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communication network, or those strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user, do not require such consent. These are, in other words, cookies that are indispensable for the operation of the site or necessary to perform activities requested by the user. Like the technical cookies mentioned above, which do not require express consent for their use, there are also “analytics cookies” which, when used directly by the site manager (so-called “first-party” or “proprietary” cookies), collect information in aggregate form on the number of users and on how they visit the site; or, where they are provided by third parties, if appropriate, when tools are used to reduce the power of identification (for example, by masking significant portions of the IP address); and “functionality cookies”, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (e.g. language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to users. For ‘profiling cookies’, on the other hand, i.e. those aimed at creating profiles of the user for the purpose of sending advertising messages aligned with preferences expressed by the user when surfing the web, prior consent of the user is required.
4.2.2 Types of cookies used by the sites and possibilities of (de-)selection.
The unifix.it website uses the types of cookies listed in the table below. The site offers the possibility of (de)selecting cookies as indicated below, except for third-party cookies for which the user must refer directly to the methods for selecting and de-selecting cookies set up by the respective operators (see “Third-party cookies”).
Cookies are divided into these categories:
WARNING: by disabling technical and/or functionality cookies, the site may become inaccessible for use, or certain services or functions of the site may not function properly, and the user may be forced to change or manually enter certain information or preferences each time he/she visits the site.
Listed below are links to the respective disclosure statements on the use of cookies (as required by the Italian Guidelines on Cookie Usage - Provvedimento Individuazione delle modalità semplificate per l’informativa e l’acquisizione del consenso per l’uso dei cookie - 8 May 2014):
In detail, the first-party cookies present on the website are listed in the table at the bottom of the page.
4.2.3 How to view and modify cookies through your browser
You can select which cookies to authorise through the procedure provided by the websites on the pages referred to in the links above, as well as authorise, block or delete (all or part of) the cookies also through the specific functions of your browser: however, in the event that all or some of the cookies are disabled, it is possible that the site may not be accessible, or that some services or certain functions of the site may result as unavailable or not function properly, and/or the user may be forced to change or manually enter certain information or preferences each time he/she visits the website. For more information on how to set cookie preferences via your browser, please refer to the relevant instructions:
With regard to cookies sent directly by the operator of this site, in addition to the procedure made available on this page, the user may also block or delete cookies (entirely or partially) through the specific functions of his/her browser (see above). The user’s selected cookie preferences will in turn be recorded in a special technical cookie, with the characteristics set out in the relevant cookie table. Such a cookie may, however, not function properly in some situations: in such cases, we advise the user to delete unwanted cookies and also to block their use through the functions of their browser. User preferences with regard to cookies will have to be reset if different devices or browsers are used to access the site.

4.2.5 How to disable cookies
The data protection regulations provide that the user may disable cookies that have already been set (‘opt-out’). The opt-out is provided for so-called ‘technical cookies’ (Art. 122 of the Privacy Code), as well as for cookies not among the ‘technical cookies’ but previously accepted (‘opt-in’) by the user.
How to disable cookies in various browsers: Internet Explorer:
Internet Explorer
Firefox
To set Firefox so that it can block cookies from all websites:
Google Chrome
By virtue of this distinction, the user may disable and/or delete cookies (“opt-out”) through the relevant settings of his/her browser, and disable and/or delete individual non-“technical” cookies administered by third parties by accessing the website operated by the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA) at www.youronlinechoices.eu
